Low Fat Recipes

Well, as you all can see, I missed posting yesterday for all of you! I spent the day with my
sister. We went to a local pet store, wandered around Cost Plus World Market, and then
shopped at the mall. It was a nice break from the regular routine.
So, because I missed yesterday’s post–I’m posting it for you today! OH, and, my husband is
supposed to be cooking for me tonight, we’ll see how it goes!

Now, back to healthier party foods for the football season! I have not had much time to cook
this week, so I have recipes for you that are yummy, easy, and low fat! None of these recipes
or photos are my own, but I can promise you they are delicious!

Low Fat Chicken Nuggets
(thanks to About.com!)

If you’d like to make these, here is an easy video tutorial for you:: Low Fat Chicken Nuggets

You can even make your own tortilla chips! (No frying needed)

These particular chips are chile-lime flavored, but you can leave that off if need be.
Here’s how you make them:: Make your own low fat tortilla chips

Did you know you can make potato chips in the microwave with 8 grams less fat than
regular fried potato chips? YOU CAN! And they’re actually delicious. I do this regularly
when I’m craving something crispy!

Here’s a recipe:: Microwave Potato Chips

Salsa is always low fat, but is often pretty high in sodium. If you’re not worried about
your sodium intake, go buy yourself some regular salsa! But if you are, or even if you just
want a more “healthy” and fresh salsa, make your own! It’s really not that hard, I promise.
Here are a few recipes you might want to try!

Salsa Verde (or Salsa de Tomatillo)

Restaurant Style Salsa

Caribbean Fruity Salsa

Peach Salsa
And if you need a dip for your potato chips, my favorite is french onion!

I usually just buy a tub of sour cream (you can get a low fat sour cream… because this is
a dip, you won’t notice the slight flavor change) and french onion soup mix and stir them
together.
But if you’d like to make your own, here’s a recipe:: Guy Fieri’s French Onion Dip
(keep in mind though-this one is NOT low fat)

If you prefer ranch dip, I posted up how to make it on this post here:: Low Calorie Party Food

I hope these have helped!
If you have a recipe you’re curious about making “healthier” let me know and I’ll be glad to help!

  1. There are some fascinating points in time on this article however I don?t know if I see all of them middle to heart. There may be some validity but I’ll take hold opinion till I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want extra! Added to FeedBurner as nicely

    • I’ve not tried ALL of these recipes, but I can guarantee you that the chicken recipe is delicious and those microwave potato chips are surprisingly good! They are indeed low fat, because there is no oil involved in any of these recipes, even though they would normally call for such. The only recipe that is not low fat would be Guy Fieri’s French Onion Dip :]

A formidable share, I simply given this onto a colleague who was doing a bit of analysis on this. And he in reality purchased me breakfast as a result of I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the deal with! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to debate this, I really feel strongly about it and love reading extra on this topic.
